8 Powerful Examination Revision Techniques

By: Admin

1. Know your nature
You know yourself more than anyone else, so you must know which time of day you find it convenient to study. No matter how much you study, no matter how perfect the setup of the place is, if you’re not in the mood for it because you find it inconvenient, then the chance of having a good result is very high.
There are a lot of people who prefer to study at night, since things certain things were done in the morning, they can have longer time to study, and also the place is a quieter than during the day, it will be easier to focus.
Some study in the afternoon, and there are some who study very early in the morning.

2. Warm Up
Always make sure to warm your brain up before using it to engage critical thoughts or ideas. A sudden intake of large amount critical ideas will easily fill in your brain without allowing it to absorb, and this will result to brain cramps, you will not be able to focus in the long run. Start taking in ideas slowly, allow the brain to absorb it one at a time until it is 100 percent fully functional and focus.

3. First Thing's First
If you have so many things to do at the same time, don’t panic, don’t lose your cool, close your eyes, breathe and stay quiet, this will help you think clearer. Weigh the things you need to do, then make a sequence out of it, the lighter ones should be done first, this will allow your brain to warm up and you start getting your focus from here.
Do the things one at a time until you reach the heaviest duty or work for that day, by this time, your brain should be 100 percent fully functional and focus, you should be able to think and solve problems easily then.

4. Input and Output method
Reading is a Yin activity and writing is a Yang activity, always remember to put the Yin and Yang in balance. When you read, you absorb all sort of ideas and eventually understand it, but in long run you will easily forget it. All things that come easily goes away easily. To make study more effective, you must combine both reading (input) and writing(output). When you read your lessons, always make notes of it, this way it will be easier for you to visualize how much you’ve learned from your study. When you answer in exams, you write down your ideas, so if you practice visualizing ideas by writing them down as notes, it will be easier for you to remember things and express your thoughts on your paper.

5. Mind mapping
Developed by Toni Buzan in the late 1060's. This is a very good technique for unlocking the brain'S potential. This is only applicable if you know a certain thing or topic very well, so it is very important to read and go over the details. You imagine things using colours, images and symbols, since ideas are easier to remember when they are easily understood visually than mere floating ideas. Imagine a spider, the body is the main idea or the topic then the legs are supporting ideas, this is very good tool for refreshing memory, allowing to create focus and not losing track to the important details.

6. Inspiration
Always be inspired so you can keep on pushing yourself forward. Look for a picture of someone you really like, of course this person should be someone smart and excels in scholastic activities, not just someone popular for being pretty. Place the picture of that person on a wall where you can easily see it every time you study.

7. Sleep
During the day, your brain is used to do everything and it gets tired too. Get enough sleep to rest your brain, and allow it prepare for the following day. As you sleep, make sure to tap your Fu Wei or the Sheng Chi, this will allow your brain to absorb chi energy that brings good luck.

8. Give yourself a treat
Whenever you do good in school because of your good study habits, give yourself a treat. Do your hobbies or the things you like to do, after all, you are a human being that need to grow, and you don’t grow with just work, you also need play. Just like Yin-Yang, you need balance.
